The Trick to Boosting Your Website’s Discoverability

What's all the fuss about SEO?

It's a digital world we're living in, and while having a beautifully designed website is great, it isn’t enough. To truly succeed online, your site needs to be easily discoverable by search engines. This is where Search Engine Optimization (SEO) comes into play. SEO involves optimizing your website so it ranks higher on search engine results pages (SERPs), making it easier for potential customers to find you. Without good SEO, even the most stunning websites can remain invisible in the vast expanse of the internet.

SEO starts with keyword research. This involves identifying the terms and phrases your target audience is searching for and incorporating them into your site’s content. But SEO isn’t just about keywords. It also includes on-page factors like meta tags, headings, and image alt texts, as well as off-page factors like backlinks from other reputable sites. Together, these elements help search engines understand what your site is about and why it should be shown to users searching for related topics.

That's a lot of jargon, and seems complicated, right? It is! That's exactly why all Design Co. plans come standard with SEO baked right into your website. We can't justify simply building a stunning website if it'll go unseen by all of your potential clients, so we've decided to give you the full package instead!

Let's take it a step further...

One often overlooked aspect of SEO is site speed. Fast-loading pages improve user experience and are favored by search engines. Even more importantly, a mobile-friendly design is crucial, as more people are browsing the web on their phones than ever before. Ensuring your site is responsive and loads quickly on all devices can significantly boost your SEO efforts and keep visitors engaged.

What about content?

Finally, quality content is king when it comes to SEO. Regularly updating your site with fresh, relevant content not only keeps your audience informed and engaged but also signals to search engines that your site is active and valuable. Blogging, updating product pages, and adding customer testimonials are great ways to keep your content dynamic and SEO-friendly (if you're wondering if blogging is actually a helpful tool in driving business, consider this post and what brought you to it!)

Don't have any organic content laying around? Not a problem! There are dozens of content hubs like Shutterfly or Pexels that offer free content relevant to your niche. Images, videos, tags for related posts and plenty more. Curate your own library of content for your site and rotate them around, see what works for you. You can also design your own content using software like Canva (Design Co.'s bread and butter) to create images or posts more in-line with your brand!
